In 2020, after I read a declassified CIA document which talked about the “Out-of-Body Experience,” I decided to share my newfound fascination about this psychic ability (or experience) with my mom. To my surprise, after I explained it, she said I had told her about this when I was little!
She told me that when I was 4 years old, I told her that I left my body at night through my belly button, and flew to many places with an angel by my side. Any other Mom who heard this would’ve probably brushed this off as their kids' overactive imagination. Heck, overly religious parents might've even judged their kids story as demonic!
But rather than brushing off what I said, or negating my experience, my Mom asked me more about it. She put questions I asked her back to me, so I could explain things from my point of view.
According to her, the conversation went something like this (originally in Spanish):
4yr old Bruno: Mommy, where do you fly at night?
Mom: Ummm, I don’t recall exactly, where do you fly?
Bruno: To many places.
Mom: Which places?
Bruno: Around the house, and much further.
Mom: Very good Bruno, and how do you fly?
(I then began replying as if everyone did this kind of stuff, as if this was all so common, so it was weird my mom kept asking me about it).
Bruno: Oh mom, obviously through the belly button!
Mom: I see, and who do you fly with?
Bruno: Oh mom! Obviously with the angel!
These descriptions from my 4-year old self might seem strikingly odd. As if I had been watching too much Peter Pan. But it actually fits very well with many people’s description of their out-of-body experiences (OBEs).
