1978 — Other Soviet Reports to US Scientists
According to US parapsychologists Russell Targ and Keith Harrary, in “Mind Reach,” Yuri Gulayev, a Soviet physicist and parapsychologist, visited them at Stanford Research Institute (SRI) in November 1978 (CIA Archives [Targ, Harary], 2000, p. 82).
Gulayev reported that at the Institute of Radioengineering and Electronics (IRE), Gulayev as the institute’s director, and Yuri Kobserev, the institute’s co-director, did many psychokinesis experiments with Nina Kulagina.
In some of these, Kulgina reportedly induced skin burns on the arms and backs of visiting skeptical Soviet scientists.
